We open with a recap of the Batista-Undertaker story so far. Michael Cole is in the ring, and brings out Batista. The World Champion confirms that his actions against Undertaker at No Way Out were a receipt for the chokeslam on the 2/5 Raw. He pledges to go into Wrestlemania 23 as the champion and come out the same. Much hype for Rey Mysterio's homecoming, and throughout the show, we have clips of classic Rey moments from 2005-06, including winning the tag titles with Eddie Guerrero (No Way Out '05) and the World title last year at Wrestlemania.

Matt Hardy, Brian Kendrick, & Paul London (w/Ashley Massaro) vs. Joey Mercury and Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry). Two prevalent Smackdown feuds are brought together in tonight's opener, easily the best match on the card. Deuce & Domino's winning streak was snapped at No Way Out, so they had the opportunity to keep their "free TV" record perfect, at the very least. They meshed very well with Mercury, although he stood out like a sore thumb with the faceguard, which he should be losing in time for Wrestlemania. Said mask ended up costing him the match. London & Kendrick did a double suicide dive on Deuce & Domino, eliminating the challengers from the match, and leaving Mercury all alone with Hardy. Mercury took off the mask and wrapped it around his hand. Even before the ref could admonish Mercury for this blatant indiscretion, Hardy blocked the blow and hit the Twist of Fate to gain the fall. Winners: Matt Hardy, Brian Kendrick, & Paul London.

Kristal Marshall is with Vicki Guerrero. Whatever Vicki has planned is already taken care of. There will be a pause while someone asks, "What?". JBL pokes fun at in absentia GM Teddy Long, calling him "Capt. Cialis" for the 2nd straight week.

Chavo Guerrero vs. Scotty 2 Hotty. Seems that Cole & JBL have been told never to discuss Scotty having been on Heat for 3 straight weeks. Former cruiser champ Greg Helms is watching backstage, so apparently a face turn might be in the works if he's going to challenge Chavo. Scotty hits the W*O*R*M, but the chop knocks Chavo to the floor. Chavo rolls through a sunset flip, then pins Scotty with his feet on the ropes. Lame, stale finish ruining a good bout. Winner: Chavo Guerrero.

King Booker vs. Kane [Money in the Bank qualifier/falls count anywhere match] This had the potential to be great. Emphasize the had. Queen Sharmell did exactly nothing of note. Booker used the ring bell to knock Kane to the floor before the commercial. He tried a chair, but Kane kicked it into his face. Kane set up for the chokeslam, but Great Khali, now on Raw, showed up and brutalized Big Red, throwing him through the barrier. A stunned Booker moved in for the pin. ECW ref Mickey Henson officiated the match, subbing for Chris Kay, who was on vacation. Winner: King Booker.Post-match, the King & Queen are celebrating, and meet Khali. Booker offers a handshake, and Khali takes it. Smackdown has enough heels that could've helped Booker in this spot, but why Khali? Because they may be thinking of matching him with Kane at Wrestlemania.

Finlay & Little Bastard vs. Boogeyman & Little Boogeyman. Little Bastard was hiding under the ring, as usual, and didn't come out with Finlay. The two Boogeymen came out together. We pick up the action after a commercial. There were no tags. Finlay went at it with Mini-Boogey, which prompted Little Bastard to finally enter the fray. He took off his hat & jacket (Who did he think he was channeling? Ric Flair?), and confronted Mini-Boogey, who spat worms at him. Big Boogey went after Little Bastard, but Finlay used the shillelagh on the back of the leg for the 2nd time in 3 weeks. Little Bastard, with Boogey on his knees, hit a jumping DDT (think Mickie James) and strained to hook the leg. Winners: Finlay & Little Bastard.

Rey Mysterio is out to address the hometown fans. His rehab is going well ahead of schedule. Must be on the same program as Triple H. Vince McMahon crashes the party, bringing Rent-a-Jobber Security with him to surround the ring. He wants to talk about the Battle of the Billionaires at Wrestlemania, and asks Rey for his opinion. Mysterio, obviously upset with the boss, tells him straight up that he's a "loser". Wrong thing to say at the wrong time, Rey. Chairman Wackjob brings out Umaga. Vince takes the cane Rey was using, and whacks him in the gut with it. Umaga destroyed Rey to end the show on a decidedly down note.
