Detailed Results |
Undertaker vs. Mike Mizanin.Return match
from the Beat the Clock sprint a few weeks back. A clip is
shown of Miz bragging to Ashley & Layla (the latter since
transferred to ECW) about taking Undertaker to the limit.
As a result, Miz is squashed like a bug. No offense whatsoever.
Chokeslam, tombstone, rest in peace, Miz. Post-match, Undertaker
clears the monitors off the announce desk and put Miz through
with the Last Ride. I believe this may be the last we'll see
of Miz for a while. Winner: Undertaker.
Deuce & Domino (w/Cherry) vs. Paul London &
Brian Kendrick (w/Ashley). As this match begins,
we're told that Deuce & Domino are not yet in the mix
for the tag titles despite winning last week. Instead, London
& Kendrick are in a Armageddon ladder rematch vs. MNM,
the Hardys, & Dave Taylor & William Regal, the latter
team not represented at all tonight, at No Way Out. This news
gives JBL something to complain about, and Deuce & Domino
only strengthen their case for a title shot. They totally
dominated the champions, and treated them like jobbers. This
time, it was Paul London who got the hot tag and tried to
clean house, but not enough. A failed tope by Kendrick on
Domino distracts London long enough for Deuce to beel him
off the top turnbuckle. After a tag back to Domino, the challengers-to-be
hit a combination double-sledge/neckbreaker to finish off
London. Winners: Deuce & Domino.
King Booker & Queen Sharmell are complaining to Teddy
Long about Kane disrupting things last week when Booker was
being given the key to his hometown of Houston. He wants Kane
suspended, but Long instead makes Kane-Booker for No Way Out.
Relatively fresh matchup, as these two have not fought since
Booker was on Raw a ways back.
Joey Mercury vs. Matt Hardy.2nd rematch of
the night. The last time these two met, Hardy won the battle
but lost the war when Johnny Nitro trespassed and attacked
Matt post-match, leading to a snapshot on the floor. This
time, these two are given much more time and have the match
of the night. Mercury's goal was again to maim Hardy, to the
point of possibly eliminating Team Xtreme from No Way Out.
He worked on the already-injured jaw and also the knee. Hardy
rallied, and hit the legdrop from the middle rope. Mercury
removed one of Matt's boots at one point. That's something
new. Matt went for the side effect, but Mercury countered
and cradled Hardy for the clean pin, salvaging an otherwise
dismal week for MNM. Winner: Joey Mercury.
Boogeyman vs. Finlay. For the first time,
Boogeyman is made to look vulnerable. For the first time,
Boogeyman is just another wrestler. Finlay worked him over
and put him on the defensive. Turning point of the match came
when Little Bastard tried to steal Boogey's satchel. Unfortunately
for the leprechaun, he got caught and there wasn't any pot
of gold waiting for him this time. Boogey pulled out a handful
of worms, but as ref Charles Robinson got LB out of the ring,
Finlay used the shillelagh to scoop the right leg out from
under Boogey, and collected the 3. Rematch at No Way Out.Winner:
Finlay.
Daivari vs. Gregory Helms.Daivari is now
billed as hailing from Detroit. He's making his return to
Smackdown after losing the services of Great Khali to Raw,
which left him with nothing to do in ECW. Helms, you'll recall,
claimed he'd run the table in the cruiser division, but he
hadn't yet faced Daivari. Good match, the best Daivari has
had in his 2 1/2 years in WWE. Fans didn't seem to care for
either man. Finish saw Helms roll up Daiviri with a handful
of tights, but Daivari reciprocates by reversing the rollup
and grabbing the ropes for leverage, earning him a title shot.Winner:
Daivari.
Kristal claims to Teddy Long that she's in line to model for
Victoria's Secret, and gives Teddy a peek. He's digging. Jillian
ambles along, still trying to sing after Kristal had dissed
her earlier. JBL would make the crack that he's heard cats
sing better than this. Teddy announces a cross-brand Diva
Talent Invitational at No Way Out. Hmmmm. I've read that women's
champ Mickie James is quite the karaoke singer herself. This
may end up being Jillian's ticket to Raw.........
Batista vs. Mr. Kennedy [World Championship Match].
Ok, I didn't see the Royal Rumble, so I can't compare this
match to the last meeting between these two. Batista's left
arm is bandaged after the earlier fight. Kennedy works on
said arm for much of the match, and hit the Kenton Bomb for
a 2 count. Methinks that was a strategic mistake, as he hit
it too early in the match. Ground-level Green Bay Plunge gets
a 2. Batista hit 4 spinebusters before nailing the Batista
Bomb to finally put Kennedy away. Winner: Batista. Batista
is busy celebrating when the gong goes off, and Undertaker
uses the riser to return to the stage. Major league staredown
to end the show. |
