We open with "The Cutting Edge", making its ECW debut. Edge puts himself over first, playing footage of the Rey Mysterio-Chavo Guerrero match from last Friday's Smackdown, followed by the Edge Army's beatdown of Mysterio. Tonight's guest is ECW champion CM Punk. Edge claims he sees a lot of himself in Punk, but the champion isn't buying, saying he respects his opponents, something Edge doesn't do, given his ragging on Mysterio. Even though it's been known to fans that Punk will face Chavo again later, Punk makes the proposition that if Chavo were to challenge him again, he'd accept. Enter Chavo, who makes said challenge. It degenerates from there, as Punk tells Chavo that they may have the same discussion next week, "Same Punk-time, same Punk-channel!". Chavo pie-faces Punk into Edge, and now there's a 2-on-1 beatdown. Both Chavo & Edge ram Punk into the post, "injuring" the ECW titlist's shoulder. Edge, however, is looking suspiciously at Chavo as he leaves, mindful of the remarks Chavo made to his aunt Vicki (Edge's girlfriend) on Smackdown.....

Match 1: John Morrison & Mike Mizanin vs. The Highlanders (non-title) The McAllister cousins have moved over from Raw rather quietly, and enter to new music. However, their luck hasn't changed, as this is a JTTS squash. Both cousins get token offense, but in the end, Miz posted Robbie, then hit the Reality Check. Game over. Winners: John Morrison & Mike Mizanin.

Kofi Kingston, after weeks of video teases, debuts on ECW next week.

Kelly Kelly comes out to pimp the fact that starting next week, ECW will be presented in high definition. Kelly then pulls off her robe to reveal a sexy black two-piece bikini.

Colin Delaney is out with Tazz, who recaps what the rookie has gone through. He's ECW's answer to Shark Boy, taped up like crazy. Unfortunately, they keep feeding this kid to the monsters.....

Match 2: Colin Delaney vs. Kane Squashola #2. I used to think Delaney was the 2nd coming of Sean Waltman. Instead, since this is ECW. He might as well be the 2nd coming of Mikey Whipwreck. Boot to the face. Sideslam. Chokeslam. Good night. Winner: Kane.

As the trainers are attending to Delaney in the ring, we have a Armando Estrada sighting backstage. With CM Punk being attended to, Estrada wants to make sure Punk can go ahead with his match later. "I'll be there", the champion promises.

Footage is shown of the conclusion to Raw, with Jeff Hardy's Super Swanton Bomb off the light stand on Randy Orton. An update on the conditions of the WWE & IC champions is up after the break.

Both Hardy & Orton were taken to a medical center in Mobile, and were released within the last 24 hours. Orton has back & neck trauma, but Hardy left under his own power.

Joey & Tazz run down the Royal Rumble card.

Match 3: Shelton Benjamin vs. Nunzio The former cruiserweight champion is already in the ring as Benjamin comes out. Another JTTS squash. Nunzio's only flash of offense comes with the help of ref Mike Posey, who repeatedly has to admonish Benjamin, but doesn't call for a DQ. As he backs Benjamin away from the corner, Nunzio hits a missile dropkick off the 2nd rope. However, Nunzio fails to connect with the Sicilian Slice, as Benjamin catches him and hits the released power bomb back into the corner. He hits his inverted bulldog-DDT (Straight to Hell for TNA fans), but Nunzio slips out a wee bit early. After the match, Benjamin called out his catchphrase ("Ain't no stoppin' me now!"), then hit the bulldog a 2nd time for good measure. Winner: Shelton Benjamin.

Match 4: CM Punk vs. Chavo Guerrero (non-title) Is the 3rd time the charm for Chavo, who is in his 4th main event in the last three weeks? Ya gotta hope, considering he gave himself an advantage by "injuring" Punk's shoulder earlier. Throwing cold water on things is Edge, who joins Joey & Tazz at ringside. Like, we don't need him ruining another main event, eh? Unfortunately, he did. Punk is selling the injured left shoulder as he comes out, and the veteran Guerrero works on it to get heat. Punk rallies, but after Chavo hot-shots the injured wing on the ropes, Edge leaves the desk and cold-cocks Punk with the World belt behind the back of ref Scott Armstrong, who is moving Chavo away from the ropes. Punk is counted out, and Chavo gets his title shot, albeit through illegal means. Winner: Chavo Guerrero via countout.

After the match, Edge takes his leave, but apparently there's still some friction between him & Guerrero, as Chavo eyes him suspiciously to close the show.
