On September 6th at All-Star Extravaganza, live on Internet Pay-Per-View, it’ll be the ROH World Tag Team Champions reDRagon defending their championship in a two out of three falls match against The Young Bucks! This rivalry began last year at Raising The Bar: Night 2 when Nick and Matt Jackson shockingly defeated reDRagon in Chicago to become the ROH World Tag Team Champions for the first time.
In a much anticipated rematch, reDRagon recaptured their gold at War of the Worlds in New York City. Both matches however, did not end without controversy. In Chicago, Matt Jackson had a hand cast that was protecting an injury he suffered in Japan. The ending of the match saw Jackson use the cast to help capture the championships. In the return match, UFC Star Tom Lawlor was in the corner of reDRagon, and assisted in their win. This time, ROH Matchmaker Nigel McGuinness wants a clear winner, and wants to find out once and for all who the best tag team in the world truly is.
Over the past two years reDRagon has taken on any and all comers and has been successful against them all. Now as three time ROH World Tag Team Champions, and a lengthy reign of dominance, they have a legitimate claim to being “the best tag team in the Universe” as they often like to call themselves. However, The Young Bucks also have claim as they are arguably the most innovative team in the world, and held both the ROH World Tag Team Championship, and the IWGP Junior Heavyweight Tag Team Championship at the same time in 2014.
Interestingly, just a few weeks before in Chicago Ridge, The Bucks and reDRagon will share a ring…but that night they’ll be on the same team in a huge 8 man battle. Will they be able to work together at all knowing with this much anticipated rubber match is to settle this rivalry in two out of three falls.
This must see contest can be seen live on internet Pay-Per-View on Saturday September 6th in Toronto, Canada. For tickets click HERE!
