Reported By: Jacob Gilbert
TV Rating:
1. Derrick Bateman def. JTG.
2. Tamina Snuka & Kaitlyn def. Natalya Niedhart & Maxine when Tamina pinned Maxine.
3. Tyson Kidd def. Johnny Curtis via submission.
Matt Striker is doing play-by-play this week, as Josh Mathews, injured at the hands of Brock Lesnar on Raw, is out the rest of the week, which means that perhaps Scott Stanford, who got the week off last week in England, will go the distance with Matt on Superstars.
William Regal is also in absentia, supposedly looking for new faces to replace Titus O'Neil & Darren Young (Smackdown) and Tyler Reks & Curt Hawkins ("fired"), so Hornswoggle is the guest matchmaker this week, and joins Matt on commentary for our opener...
1. Derrick Bateman vs. JTG.
The surviving half of Cryme Tyme returns after a few weeks away, ambushing Bateman during a promo. JTG cuts a promo of his own, so Bateman collects a quick receipt, and we're underway. Very evenly matched, and 'Swoggle still has to work on his mic skills. JTG hit a reverse neckbreaker for 2, but the next thing ya know, Bateman with a bulldog-DDT-type combo, which has JTG losing his do-rag as he does a headstand before landing flat for a 3. Winner: Derrick Bateman.
Our main event is supposed to be a tag match pitting Tyson Kidd & Percy Watson against Johnny Curtis & Michael McGillicutty. Backstage, Kaitlyn compliments Ty on his new submission finisher, and Ty puts over he wants to have Twitter followers name the move for him. His honey, Natalya, isn't digging that Kait appears to be hitting on Tyson, so she decides to teach Kait a lesson........
2. Natalya Niedhart & Maxine (w/Johnny Curtis) vs. Tamina Snuka & Kaitlyn.
Bateman is backstage getting cleaned up after his match, and Curtis replaces Hornswoggle at the desk. Well, the quality of commentary isn't improving at all with Regal away. Maxine had Kaitlyn in position to tap out, but Nat wants in. Big mistake. Kait sees an opening to get free, and Tamina finally gets in. Nat tags Maxine back in, and Maxine promptly gets squashed like a bug. One Superfly Splash later, it's over. Winners: Tamina Snuka & Kaitlyn.
3. Johnny Curtis vs. Tyson Kidd.
Somehow, someway, Watson was ambushed backstage, turning the tag team main into a single. Maxine & Curtis trade places, and now McGillicutty joins Maxine & Matt at ringside. Maxine says nothing. Tyson sold for Curtis big, and sold an injury to his left arm. Curtis tries to go high-risk, but misses a splash, and Ty capitalizes by locking on his new submission, which is sort of a cross between the Sharpshooter and Hell's Gate. Curtis struggles a bit, but finally taps. Winner: Tyson Kidd.
