Detailed Results
Co-hostess Ashley Valence introduces the pros, save for the three with the remaining rookies. Miz, LayCool, & Kofi Kingston do the intros for Alex Riley, Kaval, & Michael McGillicutty, respectively. Matt Striker announces that the three finalists will have at it in a triple threat coming up next. The more they talk up Riley as the possible winner, the more you believe it ain't happening.

Season 3, launching next week, will be a short-season, and with all Divas. Kelly Kelly will mentor FCW Diva champion Naomi Night, who is a former Orlando Magic cheerleader, and WWE has a track record of ex-NBA cheerleaders (Layla & Eve Torres were the last Diva Search winners in 2006 & '07).

Alex Riley (w/The Miz) vs. Kaval (w/LayCool) vs. Michael McGillicutty (w/Kofi Kingston).

Before the match even began, Miz did what he does best, run his mouth, talking trash to Kaval. The World Warrior shoved the US champ down, and McGillicutty sent Riley to the floor. It's an even match as the bell sounds. All that is needed is one mistake, or being sneaky. McGillicutty hit a Perfectplex for 2, before Riley made the save from the floor. McGillicutty booted Riley into the announce table. Michael Cole was going nuts. Kaval hit a rolling Liger kick, but Riley pushed him off the top and stole the pin. Replay shows that Riley still had a foot under the rope, undetected by ref Charles Robinson. Winner: Alex Riley.

Former Divas champ Alicia Fox will mentor Maxine. Do we need another shrew in the stew?

There's at least one male pro, and it's Goldust, who will mentor Aksana. From Russia with love, I suppose.

Husky Harris, Percy Watson, Lucky Cannon, Eli Cottonwood, & Titus O'Neil are in the house. The votes are split, with Cannon adopting a heel attitude and telling Striker that this season was flushed with his ouster. Harris & Watson picked McGillicutty, while Cottonwood & O'Neil picked Riley. No one picked Kaval. Riley's pinfall was a pyhrric victory after all, as the Varsity Villain was eliminated, much to Miz & Cole's consternation. Riley cut a promo, and was in denial, to be sure. He's not going away anytime soon, though, if Miz has anything to say about it.

Ring announcer Jamie Keyes is swapping her microphone for a pair of tights, as she'll be part of the season 3 class, mentored by the Bella Twins.

Make it two male pros, as Primo Colon will mentor AJ Lee, who's been rumored to be coming in anyway.

Debate time. McGillicutty & Kaval cut dueling promos on each other. Kaval references not only Mr. Perfect, Michael's dad, but also Eddie Guerrero. McGillicutty, whom O'Neil referred to as a Will Ferrell lookalike earlier (!), cracked on Kaval & LayCool, and more specifically, Kaval's lack of size. Well, it was fated to come down to these two anyway........

The most despised woman in WWE, Vickie Guerrero, will pollute Tuesdays in September, paired with Aloisia (newly signed 6'9" Isis the Amazon). McMahon just doesn't get it. At least we won't have Miz to kick around on Tuesdays anymore.

And the poll favors.............KAVAL! The World Warrior, despite a losing record, is your season 2 winner. McGillicutty cuts one last promo, this time as a full heel, promising the "genesis" of him. Kaval is barely able to start his own speech before the others jump the rail and attack. Y'think we could've seen this coming? McGillicutty & Riley return to join the attack, and Kaval is left laid out as Layla is weeping, while Michelle McCool is in shock. Is this Nexus, part 2? What a way to end season 2!
