We open with a recap of the assault on John Cena last week. John Laurinaitis is out to start the show proper, and refuses to apologize for his actions. He's playing the disrespect card again, and whines that Cena mocked his voice. It's the way it is because of a throat injury he suffered in Japan vs. the late Steve "Dr. Death" Williams. A slide show of Laurinaitis' accomplishments in Japan is shown.

CM Punk is out next, and Punk lays down the truth, something Laurinaitis is incapable of. For his trouble, Punk gets Lord Tensai in the main event.

1. Intercontinental title: Cody Rhodes vs. Big Show.

Rhodes couldn't get much traction. He hit the Beautiful Disaster too early, and got a near fall. When Show took control, Rhodes bailed and took a deliberate countout loss. Winner: Big Show.

Before the match, Show was minding his business, waiting for his cue when Laurinaitis, texting as he walks, ran into him and got on the colossus' case. Show called out to him in a mocking tone, and that got Eve on his case. After the match, Eve came out and coaxed an apology out of Show.

2. Kofi Kingston (w/R-Truth) vs. Dolph Ziggler (w/Vickie Guerrero & Jack Swagger).

Team AW is watching backstage, and we see Mason Ryan has joined the viewing party. Whether or not that means anything remains to be seen. Swagger was the difference. Guerrero & Truth were both on the apron, and the ref had to end that discourse, allowing Swagger to knock Kofi off the top. One Zig Zag later, and Ziggler steals another one. Winner: Dolph Ziggler.

John Cena interview, via satellite. Cena said that he convinced the Board of Directors not to discipline Laurinaitis until after Over the Limit. Personally, I think the GM should've been disciplined now, as in, being put on administrative leave until the PPV.

3. Kelly Kelly & Layla El vs. Maxine & Natalya Niedhart.

Kelly & Natalya never tagged in. Instead, Kelly knocked Nat off the apron. Maxine got a brief bit of offense, but Layla took care of that with the LayOut. Beth Phoenix was on commentary, and we learn she will face Layla at Over the Limit, reviving some old issues. Winners: Kelly Kelly & Layla El.

4. Sheamus & Randy Orton vs. Chris Jericho & Alberto Del Rio.

Standard stuff with this bunch. Sheamus had his shoulder bandaged, and of course the heels went after it for heat. Del Rio also targeted Orton's oft-injured left shoulder, teasing they might use the cross-armbreaker on Orton. One ill-timed mistake by Sheamus proved costly. A Brogue Kick, aimed for Jericho, got Orton instead. This after Orton had RKO'd Del Rio. Jericho with the Code Breaker and the win. Winners: Chris Jericho & Alberto Del Rio.

Jericho took the belt and laid it on Sheamus, claiming it was soon going to be his. Orton hit the RKO on Sheamus after. Following a commercial, Jericho politicked for a title match. Orton & Sheamus attacked him & Del Rio. Orton told Sheamus nothing in the ring is an accident. Hmmm. Laurinaitis said the World title match at Over the Limit is now a fatal 4-way, which makes more sense, considering Del Rio never really won anything to earn the #1 spot in the first place. Smartest thing the GM did all night.

5. Brodus Clay (w/the Funkadactyls) vs. The Miz.

Miz cut a promo before the match, which was the usual fluff. He got heat on Clay early, and got the kneeling DDT for 2. Clay, however, came back. Miz went up top and fell into the path of the sheplex. One big splash later, and Miz is another statistic. Winner: Brodus Clay.

Triple H will return next week to address what happened at the hands of Brock Lesnar last week. Lesnar's music plays, but his former in-ring manager and real-life friend, Paul Heyman, makes his first appearance in a WWE ring since December 2006, to address the crowd. Claiming that Lesnar felt disrespected and betrayed, Heyman read a statement that ended with Lesnar declaring he has quit. Read that to actually say he's taking a summer vacation.

Big Show is backstage with the stars of the new USA series, "Common Law", debuting on Friday, and they start mocking Laurinaitis. Show is laughing, but when he turns around, Eve is there. Uh-oh.......

6. Non-title: CM Punk vs. Lord Tensai & Daniel Bryan (w/Sakamoto).

Bryan was added to the match at the last minute by Laurinaitis. Not much time left in the show, and you can pretty much figure the result. Punk had to fight from a defensive position the whole match. He rallies, and just as he has Tensai lined up for an elbow drop, Sakamoto distracts ref Charles Robinson, allowing Bryan to crotch Punk on the top. A sloppy derailer leads to the claw. Winners: Lord Tensai & Daniel Bryan.

Post-match, Bryan hit the Yeslock twice, and Robinson could've reversed the decision right then and there to give the fans a bit of a happy ending. He didn't. Predictable.
