Due to the Raw team's Australian tour, ongoing as we speak, tonight's show was recorded following last week's episode, so we're still in Las Vegas. The Roulette wheel may be gone, but the controversy generated by CM Punk last week lingers on!

The program starts with the same heavily edited recap of CM Punk's remarks from last week that was shown on Smackdown. After "Burn it to the Ground", John Cena comes down to the ring to start the show proper. Cena doesn't agree with Punk's viewpoint, but he questions the logic of Punk being suspended for speaking his mind. The champ reveals that Chairman/CEO Vince McMahon, the nutty professor in charge, will be here later, and Cena wants answers from the old man!

1. Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres vs. the Bella Twins.

Short, and to the point. The twins got heat on Eve after she hit a standing moonsault on Nikki for 2. Hot tag to Kelly, and the champ cleans house on the twins. Eve clears out Nikki, and Kelly puts Brie away with the K2. Winners: Kelly Kelly & Eve Torres.

R-Truth is on the phone with someone, and then is interviewed by Scott Sandford. Truth jokes that he just saved money by switching to GEICO. That joke is old, Truth. Truth promises that someone "will get got" in the triple threat later. One of his opponents, Alberto Del Rio appears, and talks about----what else?----destiny.

2. Non-title: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty vs. Santino Marella & Vladimir Kozlov.

The tag champs have yet to defend the titles on television. Gee, what a surprise! Marella teased the cobra way too early, so Otunga left the ring to stall. The champs got heat on Kozlov, who then tagged Marella back in. Shouldn't that be the other way around? Marella & McGillicutty are legal, but Otunga is lingering around. He finally eats the cobra, but McGillicutty takes advantage and hits the McGillicutter for the win. Winners: David Otunga & Michael McGillicutty.

Sgt. Slaughter is visiting with Evan Bourne, and Sarge talks about leading the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. I wonder if Vince watched the US Open golf tournament (which son Shane attended).....! Jack Swagger interrupts and suggests maybe he should. Well, Daffy Duck has never been asked. Slaughter & Swagger will meet tonight.

Sandford interviews Miz, who whines that he's not in the triple threat because of his former protege, Alex Riley, whom he faces in a Capitol Punishment rematch later.

A random jet is shown "earlier tonight", and they claim it's Vince McMahon's private jet. Yeah, right.

Money in the Bank flashback: Swagger wins at Wrestlemania 26, then wins the World title "5" days later.

3. Sgt. Slaughter vs. Jack Swagger.

Slaughter applied the Cobra Clutch way too early, clearly not learning anything from Santino's misadventure with the cobra thrust. Swagger backs Slaughter into the corner twice to break the hold, and it's all Swagger from there. One Swagger (Vader) Bomb ends it. Winner: Jack Swagger.

Swagger applies the anklelock after, but Bourne makes the save and chases Swagger from the ring. Slaughter recites the pledge, and it's a chorus of 1.

4. Alberto Del Rio vs. R-Truth vs. Rey Mysterio.

With CM Punk suspended, the winner gets John Cena at Money in the Bank. Naturally, this is the best match on the show. Tons of near falls. Cool spot was a variation on the tower of doom. Del Rio had Truth in the Electric Chair, but Mysterio came off the top with a bulldog. Everyone sold. Cool spot #2 saw Truth hit a sunset flip on Del Rio over the top, which led to a released German suplex on Mysterio. Truth got 2 out of that. Del Rio tried a sunset flip on Mysterio, who rolled through and hit a buzzkick for 2. Mysterio dialed 619 on Truth, and hit the missile splash, despite Del Rio's attempt to trip him. Del Rio broke up the pin and applied the cross-armbreaker. Mysterio taps. Winner: Alberto Del Rio.

Money in the Bank flashback: Edge won the first MITB ladder match at Wrestlemania 21, then cashed it in 9 months later.

Dolph Ziggler & Vickie Guerrero have a cake in the ring to celebrate not only the 4th of July, but, presumably, Dolph's birthday. Naturally, after Vickie does a lame Marilyn Monroe routine singing "Happy Birthday", Kofi Kingston comes out. He reminds that Ziggler can't beat him without Vickie being there, as was the case last week. Ziggler takes a poke. Kofi shoves Dolph, who doesn't realize Vickie is directly behind him, and Vickie takes a seat on the cake. As she recovers, Dolph is knocked into her again, and she falls face first into the cake this time. Seeing this, Ziggler runs away, with Kofi giving chase! Vickie does a slow burn as she exits.

Money in the Bank flashback: The Miz won at last year's MITB PPV, then cashed it in 4 months later.

5. The Miz vs. Alex Riley.

As I noted earlier, this is a return from Capitol Punishment. Cole, of course, is cheering for Miz like an idiot.

Back & forth they went, tooth & nail, each man jockeying for position. Miz had several near falls, but couldn't put Riley away. At the end, Miz went for his modified Reality Check, but Riley caught him halfway and nailed a backslide for the win. Winner: Alex Riley.

Post-match, Miz snapped and attacked Riley, leaving him lying behind the announce desk.

Vince McMahon is out to address the controversy surrounding CM Punk. He claimed Punk was suspended because he deserved it, but refused to elaborate. He wanted to leave it there, but of course, that was John Cena's cue to return. Cena forced the truth out. McMahon was afraid Punk would embarass him by taking the title and leaving on his final night with the company. Cena tried to convince McMahon to reinstate Punk because Punk had earned his title match and the people wanted to see it. Cena opted to vacate the title and left, but McMahon yelled back at him, calling him an ingrate. He raced up the ramp, belt in hand, and, swallowing his pride, reinstated Punk, but warned Cena that if Punk beats him for the title, Cena will be fired!!! McMahon stormed off as Cena contemplated the situation to end the show.
