We open with our special guest, the recently retired former world champion and current "Haven" cast member, Edge. As we're in Edge's hometown of Toronto, the Rated R Superstar is very happy to be back in a WWE ring in front of his hometown fans, even if this is just a 1-time thing. He misses the fans and the environment of being in the ring.
Cody Rhodes comes out to spoil the moment. Cody is actually stunned that Edge didn't plug "Haven" more than he did. Edge gets tired of Rhodes' self-serving blather and leaves. Cody cuts a promo, and goes around the ringside area taunting fans until he gets cut off by his opponent at Night of Champions, his former tag team partner, Ted DiBiase. The action spills back into the ring, where DiBiase lays out Rhodes with Dream Street!
1. Sin Cara 2.0 vs. Daniel Bryan.
Rematch from 2 weeks ago. More of the same, as it's very even, but the masked man gets very frustrated being unable to put Bryan away. He hangs Daniel on the tree of woe, and ignores ref Scott Armstrong's count. When it reaches 5, Armstrong calls for the bell. Winner via DQ-Daniel Bryan.
Seeming confused, Cara continues his attack and hits a baseball slide dropkick, which finally gets Bryan off the turnbuckle and out of the ring. The music starts up, but wait! What's this? A 2nd Sin Cara? Indeed, it's the real Sin Cara, but the announcers are confused, trying to sell the angle. The charade is about to come to an end. Cara 2.0 leaves, looking to fight another day.
2. Beth Phoenix (w/Natalya) vs. AJ Lee (w/Kaitlyn).
AJ should've changed outfits, because the green plaid two-piece didn't win her anything on NXT: Redemption, and she gets squashed like a bug. Beth with the Glam Slam, and that is it. Winner: Beth Phoenix.
Teddy Long has continued with the no-contact edict between Randy Orton & Mark Henry for the Cutting Edge later, and sends Zack Ryder to relay the infomation. Aksana appears, and begins to give Teddy a massage, until another of Toronto's own, Trish Stratus, makes an appearance. This has to give her a case of deja vu, dating back 11 years to an encounter with the current COO, Triple H. Aksana leaves Teddy rather embarassed.......
Later on, Edge, Trish, & Christian are backstage, and Christian is campaigning again for-----wait for it----one more title match. Edge doesn't respond as Christian leaves for his match. Ryder comes flying by, and Trish wonders if that's the internet champ everyone's raving about........
3. Christian & Wade Barrett vs. Sheamus & Justin Gabriel.
Sheamus tells a few jokes pre-match, but it is Gabriel taking the heat from his former boss and Christian. Hot tag to Sheamus, and the brawl is on again between the Celtic Warrior and Barrett. It appears that Barrett has the upper hand, but Sheamus slides out of Wasteland and hits the Brogue Kick. Gabriel has recovered and ends it with the 450. Winners: Sheamus & Justin Gabriel.
4. Great Khali vs. Heath Slater.
On paper, a squash waiting to happen, but Slater takes the fight to Khali, getting some help from Khali's "brother-in-law", Jinder Mahal, who comes down, ranting in Punjabi. Slater is about to be finished when Mahal enters and attacks Khali. They double on Khali, but the Punjabi Nightmare, still using his original music, makes his own save. Mahal is sent packing while Slater takes the Punjabi Plunge. Winner via DQ-Great Khali.
5. R-Truth (w/The Miz) vs. Evan Bourne (w/Kofi Kingston).
R-Truth is using his old music, but has written a new theme, "You Suck", sung with Miz backing him up. Miz & Kingston join the announcers. Protracted squash. I hit the mute button, so I wouldn't have to listen to Miz and to Cole suck up to Miz. Truth dodged the Air Bourne and shut Bourne up. Shut Up is Truth's name for the Paydirt finisher he's been using. Winner: R-Truth.
Cutting Edge. Edge's guests are Mark Henry & Randy Orton. No mention of the fact that Edge & Orton, as Rated RKO, held the tag titles 5 years ago, come November. Edge reminds about the no contact stip, and lets them talk. Edge brings up his "rookie year" in WWE being 1998, when Henry was in his 3rd year with the company. He thinks that Henry might not have the ability to become World champ, and as usual, there is no mention of the titles Henry has won in the course of his 15 years. As the segment ends, Edge vacates the arena, and Teddy Long sends the troops out, but the fight is on. Both champ & challenger send the riot squad, including some NXT guys, out of the ring, but once again, Henry has the last word, standing over Orton after hitting the World's Strongest Slam, then a 2nd, with a pair of 747 splashes in between!
