Detailed Results
We open with Nexus, beaten, but not unbowed. Wade Barrett brings up the predictable cliche that what doesn't kill them makes them stronger. He promises consequences for team WWE as a result of last night's elimination tag.

Enter John Cena, who decides to do stand-up comedy and rips into Nexus, eliciting chants of "You tapped out!" (at Barrett) and "Wendy's" (after likening Heath Slater to Wendy herself, with help from some photoshopping). The GM chimes in and says that there will be a series of matches, but Nexus is not allowed to interfere, under penalty of "swift & appropriate punishment". Barrett is up first, against his former mentor......

1. Wade Barrett vs. Chris Jericho.

Good opener, and after 6 months of ignoring Barrett's own acknowledgment of his height (6'7" as opposed to 6'5"), Michael Cole finally gets it right. Jericho was the default face here, despite the fact that he turned on Cena after being eliminated last night. Jericho used his experience and smaller size to his advantage, but the running bulldog faceplant looked a bit sloppy. Jericho hit a standing enziguri, but Barrett countered the Code Breaker with his barrel drop, known per WWE Magazine as Wasteland. Winner: Wade Barrett.

Tonight's stealth guest-hosts are "Going the Distance" stars Charlie Day, Justin Long, and "Saturday Night Live"'s Jason Sudekis. Typical fanboy blather, with references to the Lakers (face pop) and Miami Heat (heel heat) tossed in. They introduce the Hart Dynasty and leave. The GM then announces that the Unified tag titles are now the WWE tag titles, and Bret Hart is sent out to present the Dynasty with the new hardware. Nexus appears on the TitanTron, and Justin Gabriel will face Bret. Later.

2. Michael Tarver vs. Daniel Bryan.

Bryan returned at Summerslam, as Cena chose him over Miz. Bryan dominates from the go, but then guess who shows up. Yup, Miz, along with his current protege, Alex Riley. The distraction is enough for Tarver to recover and schoolboy Bryan. Winner: Michael Tarver.

It becomes a 3-on-1 on the floor post-match, leading to Miz hitting the Skull Crushing Finale on the briefcase. Miz has found his next challenger for the US title, and he's going to regret this!

After the break, Josh Mathews interviews Miz & Riley. The smug duo have their excuses, but at the end of the day, reality is going to bite them.

Meanwhile, Darren Young has chosen Cena as his opponent.

3. Justin Gabriel vs. Randy Orton.

The GM has pulled Hart from the match at the last minute, claiming he never like Bret in the first place (suggesting Vince McMahon may be involved after all). Gabriel is getting squashed like a bug, but then Sheamus shows up to draw Orton away. They brawl in the stands, leading to Orton being counted out. Winner: Justin Gabriel.

Post-match, realizing he's been screwed again, Orton RKO's Gabriel, then beats down Sheamus with a chair. He starts to leave, but as he sees the champion stirring, he returns to Sheamus to deliver another RKO!

4. David Otunga & Skip Sheffield vs. R-Truth & John Morrison.

Sheffield pinned both Truth & Morrison last night, so the faces are looking for a little payback. Truth starts vs. Otunga, but then Nexus takes control. Morrison gets the hot tag, but can't cash in. Sheffield makes a blind tag and levels Morrison with a sloppy forearm, then hits what I call the Southwest Sickle (think Nikita Koloff in his prime) to finish off Morrison. Winners: David Otunga & Skip Sheffield.

5. Melina, Gail Kim, & Eve Torres vs. Maryse, Alicia Fox, & Jillian Hall.

One-time guest host Jon Lovitz is in the house. La-de-dah! Way too short, for obvious reasons, but everyone gets their time in. At the end, after Eve hits a enziguri off the bottom rope, she hesitates before trying something up top. Hall recovers and hits a 1-handed powerbomb off the top. Winners: Maryse, Alicia Fox, & Jillian Hall.

Josh's interview with Edge is cut short as Heath Slater, who faces him next, proposes that the Rated R Superstar forfeit the match. Edge calls Slater a wannabe and walks off, only to have Slater hit a forearm shiver to the back.....

6. Heath Slater vs. Edge.

Just like the Orton-Gabriel match, the rookie is being beaten from pillar to post, although to Slater's credit, he's able to hang tough with Edge, and gets a couple of near falls. A baseball slide dropkick leads to the battle spilling to the floor. Boot to the head, and Edge is setting up for the spear, oblivious to the ref's count. Just as Edge's about to hit it, Slater ducks into the ring and beats the count! Winner: Heath Slater.

Justin Long is now with Great Khali & Runjin Singh. Singh shows him a picture of what is supposed to be Khali's "girlfriend" (probably his real-life wife). Charlie & Jason show up and make mockery, leading to Khali chasing them away, but then decides that the woman is ugly and leaves with the Bella Twins......

7. Darren Young vs. John Cena.

Cena needs to win to avoid the Nexus sweep. The rest of Nexus are on the stage, perhaps to celebrate. Young has Cena on the ropes, on the verge of completing the sweep. He kicks the steel steps into Cena's head, and nearly gets the 3rd countout of the evening, but Cena suddenly beats the count and makes his comeback. The Attitude Adjustment is blocked and Young tries a sunset flip, but Cena counters and applies the STF. Young struggles, but has no choice but to tap out. Winner: John Cena.

Post-match, the rest of Nexus hit the ring, but it's not Cena they're after this time. Young is expelled from the group with a gang beatdown. Southwest Sickle from Sheffield. Wasteland from Barrett, followed by the 450. With Young beaten, Nexus stands tall, but for how long?
