Episode 100 is here, but if you're looking for a happy ending to this one, you've come to the wrong place.
Backstage, Ricky Mandel has legally changed his name to Ricky Mundo. This guy is SO clueless, consumed as he is by his idol worship of Johnny Mundo, that he won't listen to the champ's advice to revert to his former ID. And they have a match......
1. Worldwide Underground (Johnny Mundo, Taya, & PJ Black w/Ricky Mundo & Jack Evans) & Marty Martinez vs. Prince Puma, Fenix, Sexy Star, & Cage.
Tons of angle advancement in an atomicos opener. Ricky makes his name change public, and thus is benched by Johnny, who summons the Moth from the back to replace Ricky Retardo. The women are paired off, of course, and Matt Striker helpfully informs that they'll meet in a Last Luchadora Standing match at Ultima Lucha Tres, which begins in 2 weeks. It ends with Puma isolated with Black & Johnny Mundo. A couple of swank double team moves, including Chasing the Dragon, though not called as such by Striker, set up End of the World, and Johnny now has a psych edge going into the title match.
Winners: Worldwide Underground & Marty Martinez.
Post-match, Marty goes after Melissa Santos again. She starts slapping him silly, but Marty no-sells. However, the distraction results in the Moth eating a superkick from Fenix, which knocks the Moth out.
What we would find out after the break is that next week, Melissa will swap her mic and fine dresses for leotards and tights, as she'll fight alongside Fenix vs. the Moth & Mariposa.
Meanwhile, Cage had abandoned his partners after Jeremiah Crane stole his gauntlet of power as a favor for Catrina. Once Cage catches up, Crane is already brawling with Mil Muertes. Catrina disappears in the confusion, and while the guys fight, Dario Cueto claims the gauntlet. I've a feeling he also has Catrina, and doesn't know it.......
2. Pentagon Dark vs. El Dragon Azteca, Jr..
The last of the Aztec medallions is on the line. Decent match, better than you'd think. Still, Pentagon lands a running package piledriver to end it.
Winner: Pentagon Dark.
Pentagon's about to break Azteca's arm a 2nd time, but Matanza shows up to send him away, all so he can rag-doll Azteca himself as a message for Rey Mysterio. Naturally, Rey shows up, and after Azteca is led away, we have our main event.......
3. Rey Mysterio vs. Matanza Cueto (w/Dario).
Rey's been down this road before with bigger opponents, but it's clear it's a fight he cannot win. Dario told Matanza he could do whatever he wants, a ream out of the Vince McMahon playbook, so he's not going to be disqualfied if Dario can help it. Mercifully, it ends with Wrath of the Gods after nearly 10 minutes.
Winner: Matanza Cueto.
Dario had pushed Rey's foot off the rope to avoid a break, and anywhere else, if the ref had seen that, it would've cost Matanza the match for interference. Dario's been a poor man's McMahon the whole time, but twice as sadistic. Rey is beaten down further, and carried off to who knows where by the Cueto brothers as we fade to black.
