Smackdown GM Daniel Bryan announced the last of his brand's teams in the Mixed Match Challenge earlier today, and, well, it isn't a surprise.
Ms. Money in the Bank, Carmella, is paired with Big E of the New Day for the tournament. As for the other teams announced on Tuesday, well, Uncreative flip-flopped the obvious pairings, and went with splitting up the two Canadian entries in the event. Sami Zayn will be teamed with Ireland's Becky Lynch instead of his countrywoman, Natalya, who gets Japan's Shinsuke Nakamura. Now, on paper, Nattie & Nakanura sounds like a winning combination, much like most of the Smackdown teams.
In a dark match before the live broadcast Tuesday, Jimmy Uso and his wife, Naomi, had a dry run for the tournament by dispatching the makeshift team of Tamina Snuka & Baron Corbin, who otherwise were not on the show.
Now, all that's left is figuring out the brackets for the tournament, and, maybe, if the Uncreative teams can put their collective brain cells together and have those brackets out before the tournament begins, then we can play our version of March Madness. In January. Yeah, I know, it's wacky. We'll figure something out next time.
