Ultimate Cage Battles is scheduled to make their debut on January 15 in Parma, Ohio at the Ohio Sports Net Complex with their “Pride & Glory” show. UCB is fronted by former fighter Dan Bobish, who has spent a number of years in the cage and is now finding a way to give back to younger fighters looking to make their start in the field of MMA.
Bobish, who is affectionately known as “The Bull” mainly due to the size of his tremendous thighs and calves said “I’m not a promoter, I’m a fighter who promotes fights. I care about these fighters because I have been there.”

As a former super heavyweight Bobish career started in the infancy of MMA when there was an anything goes attitude but he parlayed that into a finesse and power cage performance which won him titles throughout his career including titles in the “King of the Cage” promotion, one of the oldest and most respected groups in the industry.

Bobish created Ultimate Cage Battle in 2010 in order to help fighters in Ohio and surrounding areas hone their craft while getting a fair payoff for their effort. “My goal as a promoter is to put on top-rated shows that will be recognized nationally soon” he said. “I’m putting together a show where I take care of my fighters, I’m honest with all of them and pay as well as I can.” Bobish added.

The first show “Pride & Glory” is a pro-am show that will feature former UFC fighter Forrest Petz and former NFL running back Herbert Goodman in the main event. Fans will also see Akron strength and conditioning coach Brian Rogers battle Steve Cotterman, known for his many submission moves. Other local fighters are expected to be featured on the show.

--UFC Hall of Fame fighter Chuck Liddell has announced he has officially retired from cage combat and will take a position with the UFC

--UFC Heavyweight Champion Cain Valesquez is out for up to six months with a rotator cuff injury. The status of the belt is up in the air right now.

--Nick Diaz and Robbie Lawler both extended their contracts with StrikeForce.

--Holly Madison of Playboy fame will return this weekend as a ring girl for UFC 125

--Brendan Schaub will face and most likely defeat Mirko Cro Cop at UFC 128. Cro Cop needs to go the way of Matt Linland and retire before they are carried out of the ring on a stretcher.

--The Thunder Fight League will be announcing the location and some fights scheduled for their April debut shortly.
